Woolgoolga, Australia -- Sun., Nov. 18

Ah, sweet sleep. We slept in and left our room about one p.m., drove around Coffs Harbour on a little exploration mission, and went shopping. I bought three new tops.

Bob wanted to drive 25 km north to Woolgoolga to check out the coast there. I wanted to see the 'roos in their native habitat on a coastal headland.

The Sikh temple is famous architecture in Woolgoolga.

We did a quick drive through town and along the coast. Here's Emerald Beach, we'll revisit it a little later.

The most remote lighthouse in Australia--zoomed in a lot!

Masked Lapwing (Vanellus miles) AKA Spur-winged Plover
After we had lunch, we went to Emerald Beach, watched the surfers and walked to the headland to see the kangaroos having their grassy dinner.

Caught this surfer in the air.

Young 'roo very intent on his supper.

Intruder alert!
The 'roos were not afraid of us, just wary.
I love the lines in this photo with the 'roos in relief.
Small crabs create pretty works of art all over the beach!
An unplanned day turns out brilliant. We had a great time exploring off the beaten path and the weather was awesome...no thunderstorms or rain!

Tomorrow looks good weather-wise so we plan to do the Wonga Walk in Dorrigo National Park. Can't wait. Waterfall Way is our main destination for this part of our trip.

Travel Bug excited about tomorrow.
