Runners Hi -- Fri., Dec. 7

All sorts of activity today. Susan and Iain's brother, Doug, were sous chefs for Tess. She was the culinary queen, preparing food for a party of 82 tomorrow night at their home. Today she made duck, ham, crackers, ceviche, Thai snack mix, and prepped for more cooking tomorrow.

Doug peeled, shredded, boiled and drained potatoes, cut onions and tomatoes, and did whatever Tess needed done. Bob and I used the electronic juicer to make eight cups of lime juice. I took the tails off shrimp and cut them into bite-sized pieces. Doug, Tess and I all washed dishes. Bob and Doug took out the trash a few times. Iain mowed the lawn and power washed.

In the afternoon, Bob and I took off to buy a few items at Ross Dress for Less, Long's Drug, and Costco. We also had lunch at Taco del Mar.

At 5:00 p.m., Bob and I headed to Honolulu for the Runner's Hi pre-Honolulu Marathon carbo load dinner at Buca di Beppo. We arrived a little early, so we took a walk out to the marina by Panic Point. There are great views of Waikiki and Diamond Head from there.

Buca di Beppo, in case you haven't figured it out by now, is an Italian restaurant. The Runner's Hi group had 80 people...what fun chaos. People were visiting from New York, Oregon, California, and Washington for the marathon on Sunday.

Besides a fantastic dinner and reconnecting with friends, Les  and Grace organized games and door prizes for the group. Ray from Runner's Hi supplied quite a few door prizes. Here are pics from the event.

We had a wonderful evening with plenty of food and fellowship.

I forgot to mention, yesterday when we were on our way to Iain and Tess's house, we saw about 15 classic cars being driven down the highway. I was able to capture pictures of a few of them when they turned off into a beach parking lot.

That's it for today. Good night all.
