Winding Down -- Sun., Dec. 16

Vacation is at an end. Tomorrow we fly to San Antonio.

The Reedville Cafe in Aloha was the breakfast destination for Dee and I this morning. We have been friends for years; meeting for breakfasts, lunches or dinners and movies. I enjoy spending time with her and I got to see her new puppy, Soleil.

We were going to drive to Corvallis today to meet our friends Bob and Nancy; however, my Bob was under the weather, so we took a raincheck. Our afternoon was one of rest and reading. I was able to do laundry too.

Reflection on vacation: We had a wonderful time exploring Australia, learning their version of English, and about their culture and sports. We have been away from our cats and Rigamarole for a long time and we are looking forward to being back to our home on wheels. It will be nice to settle into our daily routine, at least until "hitch itch" hits us again.

Our flight leaves at 8:25 a.m. so we'll be up early to beat rush hour traffic, return our rental car and deal with the extra luggage we're taking back. Weather forecast is for high winds (gusts up to 50 mph) and rain. I hope our flight back isn't too bumpy! We will be traveling all day (changing planes in Las Vegas.)
