Feeling Better -- Mon., Oct. 15

Life marches on and, although I am still cocooned in the 5er most days, there have been some forays out for eye exams, movies and shopping at Walmart and HEB. Bob encourages me to get out and, slowly, I am. It's amazing how careful I am about everything now, always on the lookout for trippers on the ground and anything that might hit my head or face. It's all a part of the healing process.

Today Bob went to GNC and found some Isopure protein drinks with 46 grams of protein. I'll be trying those out shortly.

The other day at Walmart Bob found a Beech Nut baby rice cereal that I can water down enough so it goes through the wires and bands. It's very satisfying to eat cereal again. I put a little brown sugar and cinnamon in it. As I said in another blog, baby steps. But I didn't mean it quite so literally. As in baby food. Whatever works.

Tomorrow will be my first consultation with a dentist. Again, many questions.

Bob stopped at a hobby store and bought two peacock feathers for the cats. What a sweetie he is.

OMG. The cats go nuts over the peacock feathers. They carry them around in their kitty mouths. (Keep in mind, peacock feathers are about three feet long.) So funny. The cats are such big hunters.

Sunnie becomes an acrobat and flies through the air up to three feet high to catch the "bird." He also "dances" on his hind feet, does flips and other acrobatic moves. This is very good for him as he is getting to be quite a large cat.

Bowie is more demure but still runs through the 5er carrying "his" feather in his mouth. He finds unique ways to play with it, dragging it onto the stairs and partially "hiding" it from himself, then attacks it.

This afternoon Bob will go out walking/running again. He's getting to know quite a few areas of San Antone.

Tonight will be a quiet evening for me watching "Dancing with the Stars," "Major Crimes," and "Hawaii 5-0."

A huge MAHALO to the Runner's Hi Ohana. You know who you are and what you did. Thank you notes are coming your way. We are very touched.

I'm happy to be feeling better. Thank you to everyone for the encouragement and get well wishes. I am very grateful.
